Madison ‘Mad’ Twatter (played by Stephen Walters)

Twatter first appeared in the first episode of series one. Tony dispatches Sid to buy an ounce of marijuana from of him so they can sell the excess at a party. Sid finds Twatter in the slightly surreal surroundings of a chintzily decorated suburban brothel inhabited by scantily clad working girls. Mad Twatter is clearly insane, and his crazy appearance is enhanced by a huge black handlebar moustache and flaring eyes. He terrifies Sid into accepting three ounces of spliff on credit at a vast interest rate, to be paid in the future. Later that evening, a car Sid is travelling in skids off the road into a canal, and fully submerged, he loses his spliff. Mad Twatter eventually manages to catch up with Sid when he is out with his friend Jal and he destroys her valuable clarinet. Jal’s brothers attempt to protect her but Twatter beats them up. However, retribution finally comes. Jal’s father and his bodyguards capture Twatter and we last see him howling in rage as he is being driven away to what we imagine is a final resting place. Stephen Martin Walters, who plays Mad Twatter, is a British actor who has taken film roles in Mean Machine, The 51st State, Batman Begins, Layer Cake, Revolver, and Hannibal Rising. He also plays a barman in East is East. He has starred in numerous television productions.
